Drying process of explosion-proof motor windings

There are many methods for drying the windings of explosion-proof motors , but the principle is to use some kind of heat to drive out the moisture and moisture hidden in the windings of explosion-proof motors, thereby reducing the leakage current of the insulation and improving the insulation resistance.

Explosion-proof motor winding drying process:

1. Low temperature stage. The purpose is to volatilize the solvent in the paint, control the temperature at 70-80 degrees Celsius, and bake for about 2-3 hours. This will make the solvent volatilize relatively slowly, so that the surface will not quickly condense, resulting in the inability to eliminate the internal gas and the formation of many pores or baking on the winding surface. Don't do it.

2. High temperature stage. The purpose is to oxidize the lacquer base and form a strong paint film on the winding surface. The temperature is controlled at about 130 degrees Celsius, and the baking time is 6-8 hours. The specific time can be determined according to the size of the motor and the number of dipping times.

During the entire drying process, it is required to measure the insulation resistance of the winding to ground with an insulation resistance meter every 1 hour. At the beginning, the insulation drops, and then it slowly rises later. The insulation resistance of the explosion-proof motor windings to ground is generally above 5 megohms to be considered as drying.
